Reflections - Week 10 REFLECTIONS To date, we use electronic television. This was made possible thanks to Professor Petersburg Technological University Boris Rosing. He patented the electrical transmission of images and successfully implemented his idea into practice May 9, 1911. However, the image while it was still moving. Already at the 1936 Berlin Olympics broadcasting conducted live via one of the first cameras «Olympia-Kanone» .In this time mechanical television was still struggling with electric. However, it has gradually take their positions. As strange as it sounds to the ear of modern man, but began to record TV programs immediately. Besides, television often delivers quality messages which can also be known as an educational tool. In the TV industry nowadays, there are few channels are specially dedicated to the young kids. Their targeted audiences are children below 12 and the content of the programs must be very straightforward and specific. Television was developed during the 1930’s, mainly inspired by the radio. However, television soon became the main source of entertainment compared to the radio. During the 1960’s, content of the television matured, making it more professional. Black and white coloured television programs soon upgraded to coloured programs by coloured transmission. Nowadays, we have programs in high-definition (HD) instead. By knowing the history of televisions, people tend to appreciate television programs and further improve the technology of broadcast of television. The broadcast TV industry in Malaysia, that is Radio Televisiyen Malaysia (RTM), however, gain revenues by airing commercials since their programs are mainly free to air. In conclusion, television is universal, dominant, and expensive.
The first main key takeaway from this chapter is the development of television and how it has expanded substantially to satisfy today’s consumer needs. Basically, television began with a poor picture quality that was black and white, but within a few years colour TV was introduced changing the perception of television. It made me realize that imagination is endless, and if sufficient effort is exerted, anything is possible (Up to a certain extent of course).
The second main key takeaway is the technologies that was used to view TV shows and movies when it was first introduced. Starting off with cable to VCR was a huge step for the industry back then, but in comparison to now, it is not much of a big deal. Either way, if I was given a choice, I would choose to go back to that era again because old is gold.

Today it is common for a household to have at least one television. Television is a powerful tool for national integration and entertainment for attracting viewers. Television is one of our most important because it brings communication. It contains audio and colorful visuals from all the channel. Through TV, viewers can know what is happening around the world. Viewers can see and learn about people, places and things throughout the channels. Television also brings us news update of locals, national and international news every day. Of course, television also brings us disadvantages. Viewers might get addicted to watch TV and creates anti-social. Teenagers like to watch TV, watching it without time limit will cause their homework not done and in the end poor results. Finally, television does bring us happiness and relaxation. Televison is important to everyone of us!
